History of the Gucci Brand

Like most of the major prestigious fashion houses Gucci today started as a small family-owned artisan. And customs they were acquired and became part of a large conglomerate that buys little houses in bulk and control them with an iron fist.

Guccio Gucci started its activity in the home city of Florence in 1906 and had leather goods. His principal livelihood was horse saddles-they sold like hot cakes, because Gucci quickly gained a reputation as a true craftsman, with quality at the top of the priolistan.
Gucci expanded the business and opened another store in Rome.
in 1947, Gucci introduced the bamboo väskhandtag, something that may be counted as the brand’s signaturvara today.
Shortly after went Guccio removed and replaced-Yes, you guessed it-a son, Aldo, who steered the ship in the right direction and slapped up stores in New York, London and Paris.

In the late 60 ‘s broadened it activities to Asia, opening stores in Tokyo, Hong Kong S.A.R., and Korea. At the same time created the now classic GG logo (Guccio Gucci’s initials, and alongside Louis Vuitton’s monogram is probably the most pirated logo today) and the equally iconic Flora pattern-constant carried by Hollywood icon Grace Kelly, and the legendary purse Jackie O-named after Jackie Kennedy.

1994 played American Tom Ford as creative director at Gucci and drove up and got the company’s ready to wear summer dresses. A few years later, he was appointed Gucci for “best European company” and in 1999, the company became pillars of the conglomerate Gucci Group, which among other things, YSL, Balenciaga and Alexander McQueen in the barn today.
